Experience: I am beginning my seventeenth year of employment in by the Groton Area School District. The first four years I was involved in the special education department as a para-professional and then as the Care Classroom teacher. I spent four years teaching Kindergarten in the morning and Junior Kindergarten in the afternoon. Before this I worked as a substitute teacher within the School District. I have taught first grade for nine years.
Family: I grew up on a farm northwest of Aberdeen. I have two younger brothers. I graduated from Aberdeen Central and went on to attend Northern State College and received my degree in in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I taught second grade in Bowdle for two years. Greg & I were married in 1991. We have two children -- Eric and Jacob. Eric and his wife Ashley live in Madison, SD and have a son, Everett who is six, a daughter, Parker, 3, and Rory, who is 2. Jacob and his wife Breanna live in Tyndall. They have a daughter named Avery who is 18 months old and are expecting another in October. We live in the country near Stratford.
Interests: reading, cooking, playing softball, hiking, spending time with my children and grandchildren.
